march 28th 2006:

A few more tracks, and then a break for a month or so. Where I'll be, some people know -- but not everybody. Ask around. Someone might tell you where I am. Or not. In any case, I hope you enjoy the following. I came back to bad mouthin' female flow masters... I can't escape them. Who can? :

"I Wanna Be Conceited Non Stop" (3:25 -- 4.9MB)
(Remy Ma "Conceited (There's Something About Remy) (a cappella)" + Kraftwerk "Musique Non Stop" + The Stooges "I Wanna Be Your Dog" + Alice Cooper "Lie Down And Die Goodbyte" -- inspired by hearing Cybotron's first album and wondering if this is the sort of thing they were aiming for on the guitar-driven tracks on that record. Eh, probably not.)

"Lose The Flowers" (3:45 -- 5.3MB)
(Missy Elliott feat. Ciara "Lose Control (a cappella)" + M83 "Run Into Flowers (Midnight Fuck Remix by Jackson)" -- a work in progress -- well, procrastination really -- for over a year! Revived with new vocal track.. finally.)

"I'm Really Five Eighty-Sixed" (3:20 -- 4.7MB)
(Missy Elliott "I'm Really Hot (a cappella)" + New Order "5 8 6 (Peel Session)" -- debuted live at Frankenboot in June 2005.)

See ya in May!

G'day! Kia Ora!

march 8th 2006:

Momentum actually is existing on this side of the machine (for once!) More new links! And more tracks! Hope you like Eminem. I've learned he certainly likes the words "ass" and "shake". You make of that what you will or want. If you care or dare:

"I'm Just Ready To Lose It" (3:38 -- 5.2MB)
(Eminem "Just Lose It (a cappella)" + Kano "I'm Ready (Extended)" -- note: This is the Italian 80s dance group, not the recent grime artist, although I love his stuff as well.)

"Shake That Bounty" (4:28 -- 6.3MB)
(Eminem & Nate Dogg "Shake That (a cappella)" + Depth Charge "Bounty Killers" + Los Del Rio "Macarena" -- note: TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF "Macarena"! RESPECT!)

"Ass Like Plankton" (4:03 -- 5.8MB)
(Eminem "Ass Like That (a cappella)" + Dylan & Face "Plankton 2000 (V.I.P.)" -- note: first jungle offering -- if you hate jungle, pass this one.)

Yet more stuff soon! (No Eminem this time.)

february 10th 2006:

In "Lance" time, it hasn't been a long while, but it's been a long time since the last update especially given the activity in between.

For starters, thanks again to DJ King Of Pants of ye mighty Frankenboot for the third invite on January 21st. I have to say that F-boot is picking it up more and more than ever before, over one year and strong. So, I stress supporting this monthly with all you got.

Also, I finally updated my links, at long last! They've been suffering for quite a while, so hopefully you can revisit and experience work from people who are blasting off right now as you read this.

Finally, I've finally been getting momentum going and have a couple of new tracks. I figured one track last year was a bit pathetic, so I promised -- ur, forced -- myself to pick up the pace a bit this year and hopefully surpass the output from the year 2002. Without further ado, here are the new mashes:

"The Difference A Breath Makes" (4:16 -- 6.1MB)
(Destiny's Child "Lose My Breath (a cappella)" + The MFA "The Difference It Makes")

"5,000,000 Bites To Dust A CEO's Log" (5:32 -- 7.8MB)
(The Coup "5,000,000 Ways To Kill A CEO (a cappella)" + Queen "Another One Bites The Dust" + Boards Of Canada "nlogax" + Red Myers "Subzero")

So, um, yeah.. here's to more stuff soon!

december 6th 2005:

First off, a MUCH belated thanks to the Lenlow and the BC at the Mash Ave for hosting me for a last minute spooktacular Halloween edition of their great semi-monthy in lovely Union Square/Somerville MASS! I'd be excited to come back. You should be excited to go as much as possible, if it's happening, and you live there. (*coughorangewhipscough*)

And, tomorrow, December 7th, I come back to Vancouver to guest-DJ at the great downtown weekly called Big Trouble @ The Lotus. This won't be all mash-ups, but mashing will be done here and there. I'll finally be able to showcase more than a sliver of a sadly large wax collection. I hope, in the future, there will be a social program for DJ veterans with bad backs -- oh, that's right, this is the U.S., and Final Scratch is going to destroy vinyl in 2010. Never mind!

I hope to see you guys tomorrow. Team Trainwreck, the duo that host Big Trouble are great, great DJs, and great folks. I'm surprised they're not the kingpins of Gastown... or at least higher profile pimps than they already are.

october 27th 2005:

Aie. Too busy to properly update gigs here, although this was all arranged at the last minute.

If you are in the Boston area this Friday, October 28th evening, it would be swell to say hi to you at The Independent where I'll be spinning some (hopefully) Hallow's-Eve-friendly tunes with resident DJs Lenlow and BC over at Mash Ave.. I believe I start the the night off at 10pm, and it will all go on until 1 or 1:30am. I'll be doing two smaller sets.. one around 10pm and 11:30pm.. I think. Baaaaaaah, just get there by 10pm already! That's certainly an acceptable Beer O'Clock! (Important note: follow the directions on the website. Google Maps will confuse you! Trust me! I was very confused, initially. Then again, I'm easily confused.)

In site related news (!!), there will be a Pics section coming soon, featuring live pics of yours truly... great for Pin The Tail On The Ass games, and I'm not talking the "hinder" kind (although I've gotten compliments. Too kind!)

Thanks again to my Vancouver friends for the good time that kicked off this month. Man, this month seemed like a year or something. Why?
september 29th 2005:

Those of you in Vancouver, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada.. there is a party happening this Saturday, October 1st where I'll be playing. Where is it? When is it? You're going to have to e-mail me to find out. It's a hush-hush thing. I'm doing a set probably around 11pm or so but even that's not guaranteed. But the entire night should be fun for girl, boy, and girlboy.

HUMONGO thank-you's to the very warm and kind Adrian, D, Partyben, Dada, and many others at Bootie in San Francisco (and now Bootie LA in Los Angaleez). I can't give enough thanks to Freddy, Ruler of Trousers for letting me make noise at Seattle's Frankenboot as well. I'm hoping to make close pals in each city, step by step. (STEP ONE!)

august 26th 2005:

Just so I stay sleepless and nervous, I've asked and was subsequently graciously invited to be one of the DJ's for the September edition of San Francisco's Bootie! The big day is Saturday, September 10th. Bootie commencement will happen at the Cherry Bar. I'm quite excited about this, as I was about Frankenboot a couple of months ago... except I'm flying this time, so I'm extra nervous, of course...

The Bootie link should tell you everything. I'm giving no secrets away except that there will be new stuff and older stuff. That's it! Don't you try to ask me for more information. I'm warning you. No! Don't!

I hope to see you guys there. :)

june 12th 2005:

What? So, I haven't updated this site in, oh, what, almost three years? Do you guys think I'm still unemployed or something? (dear god, where have I been? *sobs*)

"Sheilium" (4:21 -- 6.2MB)
(Ready For The World "Oh Sheila (a cappella)" + Black Strobe "The Abwehr Disco")

I also forgot to mention that I did a secret gig this past May at Frankenboot, the Seattle mash-up monthly that's been a happenin' courtesy of DJ Freddy, King Of Pants and the great folks at The Re-Bar. It went alright!.. well, aside from some isolated insults and sharp objects thrown in my direction. But it went good enough such that I'll be "officially" guesting there again this coming June 18th, 2005 . Call it a solstice mash-up extragonzo. Besides, there's nothing else going on that night except that guy who used to be in Pavement. And, well, I don't see too much of a crossover crowd problem there. And he also plays up here all the time anyway! But I digress. Please come on by, if you're in Seattle, this Saturday. The previous links to King Of Pants and The Re-bar should tell you everything you need to know.

Wow. I can't believe I'm back to doing this. What am I doing again?

december 20th 2002:

MANY apologies for the delays...

"Lose Yrself Fitter" (4:26 -- 6.3MB)
(Eminem "Lose Yourself (a cappella)" + Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock" + The Cure "Primary (extended)" + Sonic Youth "Titanium Exposé")
(this mix was done as a Xmas present for someone very special and important to me)

"Wasn't On Hold" (3:38 -- 5.2MB)
(Shaggy + Ricardo "Rikrok" Lucent "It Wasn't Me (a cappella)" + Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now (Extended)")

I think these last couple pretty much sum up this initial chapter for the Lockarm posse. Resolution 2003 soon to be in full effect! : far more original remixing... and less of the "A + B" style mashups. If you have any suggestions or types of things you want to hear, please feel free to e-mail.

Also, I've been "advised" to take down this initial run of Mp3s in the very near future. So, you now have been forewarned.

september 16th 2002:

YES! More...

"Bust A Million" (3:57 -- 5.6MB)
(A B C "How To Be A Millionare (a cappella)" + Young MC "Bust A Move (instrumental)")

Let's hear it for FADE OUTS!... Uh... WOO!

august 17th 2002:

Believe it or not, www.lancelockarm.com now exists! Or at least, it exists just so it can redirect your browser to this page, still. But, hey, at least it's easier to remember! Oh, and I took away the link to the "site redux" page. No one's complained about the format of this page so far, so there's no need to update that old one anymore.

...

At long last, some new stuff here...

"S'Wash Ya Wart" (4:36 -- 6.5MB)
(Beastie Boys "So Whatcha Want (a cappella)" + Schoolly D "Saturday Night" + My Bloody Valentine "I Only Said")

...

...and a little RUFF GOTH series...

"Zcroom" (3:12 -- 4.6MB)
(Dr. Dre and LL Cool J "Zoom (a cappella)" + The Swans "A Screw")

I'm going to aim for more accessible tracks next time. Or at least tracks that were as fun as the original first three.

july 26th 2002:

For a small time, the Missy related tracks were taken down. They are now back up. I've also remastered "Whatcha Gon' Do, My Black Ass!" so that it "kicks" a bit more. More news to follow!
